III SHREWSBURY John Cornelius McMillan, III, 81, passed away on June 29, 2014, at Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Shrewsbury. He was the husband of the late Marcella Lucas McMillan. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc. 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. The Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mortuary with Pastor Dennis Hamsher. Interment will be in New Freedom Cemetery, New Freedom. He was born June 6, 1933, Teachey, Dublin County, North Carolina, a son of the late John C. McMillan, Jr., and the late Pauline (Ash) McMillan. John was raised in Binghamton, N.Y., later lived in Syracuse, N.Y. and Baltimore, Md. In 1990 he retired from Westinghouse and was formerly employed with AAI in Cockeysville, Md. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Dallastown American Legion Post #605. John was a volunteer with Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Co.. John was an avid cyclist and enjoyed singing with the Equine Singers of Red Lion. Surviving are a daughter, Pamela McMillan Stackhouse and her husband, Bruce Daniel Stackhouse of Glen Rock; a son, John Cornelius McMillan IV and his wife, Cheryl Sperry McMillan of Glen Rock; two grandsons, Corri Baublitz and Chris Stackhouse; one granddaughter, Stacy Stackhouse; and one great granddaughter, Amelia Stackhouse.
