GLEN ROCK Elizabeth A. "Betty" Sifleet, 72, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Carroll County General Hospital, Westminster, Md. She was the wife of Robert K. Sifleet, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 7, from the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. A Prayer Service will begin at 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary with Deacon Frederick C. Horn officiating. Born July 3, 1941, in Westminster (Carroll County), Md., Betty was the daughter of the late Roland and Estlene (Garland) Doyle. Betty was a former school teacher with the Baltimore City School District. She and her husband Bob owned and operated RKS Orchids in Glen Rock for the past 35 years. Betty was a member of the Shrewsbury Flower Show Committee and was active in many area horticultural events. She was an accomplished artist and sculptor using oils, watercolors, ceramics, and foundry works. She and her husband traveled extensively, visiting art museums across the United States as well as in Europe. In addition to her husband, Robert, she leaves a daughter, Amelia K. Yori and her husband, John of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Thomas W. Doyle of Bel Air, Md., and Phillip R. Doyle of Joppatowne, Md.; four sisters, Mary McManaway of Baltimore, Md., Margaret Mullaney of Joppatowne, Md., Suzanne Lough of Rosedale, Md., and Christine Wallace of Baltimore; and three grandsons, Christopher, Joel, and Leo.
