DOVER Margaret M. Hayes, 93, entered into rest at 10:23 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014, at Providence Place. She was the wife of the late Edwin S. Hayes who passed away on December 9, 1989. Born September 7, 1920, in Dover Township, Margaret was a daughter of the late Walter R. and Ellen N. (Brenner) Rentzel. She was a graduate of Dover Area High School. Margaret was a homemaker and farmed with her husband for 32 years in Shippensburg. Margaret was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Dover; the Ladies Auxiliary of York Rescue Mission; York Historical Society; and the Ladies Auxiliary of Union Fire & Hose Co. #1, Dover. Margaret is survived by five sisters, Ethel M. Fitzkee and Patricia A. Kulp of Dover, Betty J. Smith of Orlando, Fla., Jean E. Harner of York and Mary Alice Green of Shiloh; and a brother, Walter R. Rentzel, Jr., of York. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise A. Martin; and two brothers, Roy R. Rentzel and Richard Rentzel. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Margaret's funeral at 10 a.m. with the viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Chaplain John Nelsen of Providence Place.
