Norma J. Cocklin Obituary
YORK Norma Jean Cocklin, 81, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Victor H. Cocklin, Jr. Born June 19, 1933, in York, daughter of the late Clarence W. and Florence (Bailey) Snyder, she retired in 1995 from Danskin after 28 years of employment as an order picker and prior to that she had worked for the York Cigar Factory. She was a graduate of William Penn High School and a life member of Trinity United Church of Christ. Mrs. Cocklin is survived by two daughters, Michelle M. Cocklin, and her long time partner David F. Murray, Sr., of York, and Victoria J. Curry and husband Frank, Jr., of Prospect, Ohio; a son, Donald E. Neff, and wife Barbara, of York; two grandchildren, Caitlyn D. Neff and Daniel E. Neff; and two sisters, Shirley Weaver of Allentown and June Dettinger of Yorkana. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Snyder and a sister, Janet Krebs. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Church of Christ, 32 West Market Street, York with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Larry D. Covin, Jr., officiating. Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 32 W. Market St., York, PA 17401.
