SEVEN VALLEYS Jarod "Ja-Rod" Counts, 26, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Grace Fellowship, 1405 Seven Valleys Road, York. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday at Grace Fellowship with Pastor Lloyd Noaker officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Born December 10, 1987, in York, Jarod was the son of Judith A. (Caslow) Ahalt of Seven Valleys and the late Ray "Fuzzy" Counts, Sr. Jarod was a Spring Grove High School graduate, class of 2006. He thoroughly enjoyed working with his brother, Jesse, at Jesse's company, C R Construction Services in New Freedom, for the past few months. Jarod previously worked for Lehigh Hanson Cement in York for six years. His fiancee and family know Jarod to be "the best daddy in the world". Jarod would paint his two year old daughter's toes, and she would paint his. In addition to his mother, Jarod is survived by his stepmother, Debra A. (Gemmill) Counts; his fiancee of five 1/2 years, Lydia L. Kiser; one daughter, Jasmin R. Counts; two brothers, James Ray Counts, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Seven Valleys, and Jesse Lee Counts and his wife, Tiffany of New Freedom; two stepbrothers, Judd Clayton and Joshua John Lackey; maternal grandparents, Earnest L. and Patricia A. Caslow of Stoverstown; and paternal grandmother, Nancy L. Counts of Stewartstown. He is also survived by three nephews, Jesse L., Jr., Dillon W., and Dakota J. Counts; and two nieces, Maggie and Zoe Lackey. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Z. Counts.
