WRIGHTSVILLE Elsie Arlene Ely, 92, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late John G. Ely. Elsie was born in Wrightsville, on March 18, 1922, a daughter of the late Samuel and Alva (Seiple) Danner. She was a faithful member of Wrightsville Hope United Methodist Church, formerly Grace, for more than 70 years. Elsie is survived by two sons, John L. Ely and Henry L. Ely and wife, Julia, all of Wrightsville; four grandchildren, Henry Ely, Jr., Susan (Ely) Fife and husband, Shawn of Wrightsville, Craig Ely and wife, Heather of Philadelphia, and Michael Ely and fiancee of Windsor; and ive great-grandchildren, Ashley, Cali, and Samuel Fife of Wrightsville, and Chase and Erin Ely of Philadelphia. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Ely. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Service, 700 Hellam St., Wrightsville. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. James Wooster. Burial will be in Highmount Cemetery. A viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
