MANCHESTER George W. Melhorn, Jr., 65, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 24, 2014. He was the husband of Hilda (Graser) (Deller) Melhorn. George was born June 14, 1949, in York, and was the son of the late George, Sr. and Marie (Cutshall) Melhorn. He graduated from Central High School in 1968. He was employed by Standard Register in York for over 36 years before retiring in 2004, and also worked for PADE. George proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the 12th Ward Democratic Club, Hawks Gunning Club, Kreutz Creek V.F.W. Post 7045, Pleasureville American Legion Post #799, Menges Mills Historic Association, and Steam-O-Rama. In addition to his wife, Hilda, George is survived by his stepson, Scott Deller and his wife, Kori of Dallastown; his stepdaughter, Jennifer Deller of York; and his four stepgrandchildren. His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. His visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Officiating at his service will be The Rev. Brian Willison from Redland Valley Brethren in Christ Church. Military honors will be performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
