YORK William L. Leach, Jr. "Bill", 71, passed away at York Hospital on August 8, 2014. He was the loving husband of Brenda L. (Mathias) Leach; together they shared over 26 years of marriage. Bill was born in Sunbury, on June 14, 1943, and was the son of the late William L. Leach Sr. and Madelyn (Zeigler) Leach. He graduated from Red Lion High School class of 1961. He worked in the Art Department at Print-O-Stat in York and in the Gardening Department at Shiloh Nurseries for many years prior to retiring. He was a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in Spring Grove. He loved gardening and in his younger years he enjoyed photography. In addition to his wife, Brenda, he is survived by his son, William L III, Stephen and Christopher; and his sister, Patricia Leach-Krouse. A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 175 N Main St., Spring Grove with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service at Spring Grove Cemetery. A VIEWING will be held on WEDNESDAY from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
