BOILING SPRINGS M. Ruth Culbertson Bufflap, 93, entered into rest at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Claremont Nursing Home in Carlisle. She was the wife of the late Melvin B. Bufflap who died in 1987. Born August 29, 1920, in North Codorus Township, Ruth was a daughter of the late Newlon A. and Naomi (Deveney) Culbertson. She graduated from West York High School in 1937 and attended Prowell Commercial School in York. Ruth retired from Duplex Products Co. Sales Office in Harrisburg. She also worked as secretary to the plant managers of the Emigsville and West York plants of Duplex Products. During World War II, Ruth was employed by the Navy Department in Washington, D.C. and the Naval Ordnance Plant in York. Ruth is survived by a daughter, Madeleine L. Stauffer of Boiling Springs; a daughter-in-law, Kay Bufflap of Red Lion; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a step-great granddaughter; and a brother, Bradley J. Culbertson of York. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John E. Bufflap; two sisters, Dorothy Barrett and Eloise Seyler; and three brothers, Newlon, Richard and William Culbertson. Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ruth's graveside service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014 in St. Jacob's Union Cemetery, York New Salem.
