Cousin Marie & family, so sorry to hear about Bobby! It was a real shocker to get the news. I wish we were able to come up & attend. He certainly was always there for everyone, writing nice comments/prayers in this very place. And now his friends are doing the same for him. Too young & soon to leave but no question, he's in HEAVEN doing what he loved to do. GOD BLESS Fr. Bob.

I was very sad to hear of Father Deacon's passing. I have fond memories of him singing in the choir at St. Michael's in Mt. Carmel. He had a wonderful voice and was very friendly to all. He helped making pierogies at the church as well. My prayers for you, Marie, and all your family! May his memory be Eternal! He was such a good man !

I was shocked and saddened at the news of Fr Bob's passing. My sympathy is extended to the Church, all the family and friends.
Fr Bob was a great influence on my life- few have influenced me more. He was humble, honest, gentle but firm. Sure of what he believed and patient with others. A difficult combination to act out but one he authentically lived with ease. The gift of his engaging smile and warm voice is a beautiful memory I am grateful to have.
Fr Bob's life was well spent out for others.
We are all diminished here by this loss but are ever enriched by the Life in Abundance Bob lived with us.
Memory Eternal.

Bob,
I will always remember your great and sincere friendship and personality. Even though the miles separated us, I have always thought of my good buddy. May you share your love and devotion to all you know in Heaven and be our guardian angel to the rest of us that know and love you here on earth. Father in Heaven, please take care of him.

Deacon Robert arrived at Annunciation, York as a visitor the evening of the very day I had paid a visit to the Chancellor of the Metropolis of Pittsburgh to inquire about the process that would be required of me--at that time a 50-something Lutheran pastor--to become an Orthodox Deacon upon my retirement.

Deacon Bob spied by Pennsylvania State Police pin (at that time I was a PSP Chaplain) and that opened the doorway, first to conversation, then quickly to friendship.

He was very concerned about how someone who was not Greek would be received in an evolving ethnic parish. As I told him about my own journey, and how that parish had quite literally embraced me, he began to gain confidence that the barriers of language and culture might not be all that great.

A coupld of weeks later we were in line to get our food at the parish picnic, and passed a table of older ladies. A couple of them waved at me and said how much they liked my chanting--English chanting, mind you. I turned to Robert and said, "see what I mean?".

He quickly became a beloved partner in the ministry of Annunciation. I am thankful for having known him, and for whatever small role I may have played in enabling this Deacon/parish relationship to take root and flourish.

May his Memory be Eternal!
