Richard "Dick" Hampton CAMP HILL Richard "Dick" Hampton, 71, died from cancer on Monday, October 17, 2005, at his daughter's home in Camp Hill. His beloved wife of 44 years, Bonnie Balmer Hampton, predeceased him in October, 2000. Mr. Hampton was born on April 26, 1934, in Camden, N.J. He was the son of the late John and Helen Hampton of York. Dick is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Kelly and Eric Greensmith of Hummelstown, and Toni and Joseph Rakoski of Camp Hill; his grandchildren, Peter and Claire Greensmith; his step-grandsons, Joey, Mike, and Kevin Rakoski; a brother, John C. Hampton II of Milton; two sisters, Helen Martin of Pennsauken, N.J. and Geraldine Simpson of Aston; and many other extended family members. Dick was a graduate of York High School and attended Lafayette College. He lived throughout the country while serving in the U.S. Army and during a long career in the missile electronics field. Upon his return to York County, he worked in property maintenance and real estate sales. He was a member of the Dillsburg Lions Club, the Masonic Eureka Lodge 302, the South Mountain VFW Post 6771, the Camp Hill Elks Club, the Penn Coachmen, and the Family Motor Coach Association. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved traveling throughout North America in his motor coach. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Neill Funeral Home, Inc., 3401 Market St., Camp Hill. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, Capitol Area Unit, 3211 N. Front St., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
