Lawyer, Sr. HANOVER Donald R. Lawyer, Sr., 75, entered into God's eternal care Monday, March 12, 2012, at the Hanover Hospital. Donald was the loving husband of Charlotte M. (Baker) Lawyer, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Born July 23, 1936, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Harry Lawyer and John E. and Dorothy R. (Laughman) Laughman. Mr. Lawyer served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1953-1957. Donald attended Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren. He retired from the Local #191 in 1999 as a carpenter. Prior to this, Donald was employed by Asplundh Tree Service as well as Hanover Wire Cloth. In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by two sons, Donald R. Lawyer, Jr. and his wife, Tammy of Hanover, and Robert Lawyer of Hanover; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Laughman of New Oxford, and Edward Laughman and his wife, Sandy of Gettysburg; and one sister, Martha Lerew of Hanover. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Lawyer, and brother, John Laughman. A service to celebrate and remember Donald's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with the Rev. Fred Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mummert's Meetinghouse Church Cemetery, Abbottstown. Full military honors will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. A time to view and share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday as well as from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Serving as casketbearers will be Jesse Lawyer, James Lawyer, Michael Day, Brian Day, Russell Wonder, and David Wonder. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Donald may be made to the , Harrisburg PA Office, 3544 N.
