Virginia L. Doll Obituary
DOVER Virginia L. Doll, 78, died Friday morning, April 13, 2012, at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of Ivison E. Doll, Jr. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on May 29, 2011. Born January 26, 1934, in Warrensburg, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Lois (Lentz) Holderread. Virginia was a graduate of McPherson College in McPherson, Kan. She had over 25 years of service as an elementary school teacher, teaching primarily at Dover Elementary School. Virginia was a member of the former Belvedere Church of the Brethren in York and volunteered with Transport for Christ. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and providing care for loved ones. In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by a daughter, Kalene O'Connell of York; three sons, Darryl Doll and Larry Doll, both of Dover, and Barry Doll of York; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and an international daughter, Monica Nolle of Washington, D.C. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa D. Connors. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Virginia's funeral at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Pleasant View Church, 10384 Winterstown Road, Red Lion. There will be viewings from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor John Napp, who serves as moderator at New Freedom Church of the Brethren. Virginia will be missed greatly by her family who love her very much.
