YORK Michael R. Landis, 67, died on Monday, May 21, 2012, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Melissa J. (Peters) Landis. There will be no viewing. Following cremation with Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, York, a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Mr. Landis was born December 22, 1944, in Lancaster. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War enlisting in 1965 and served for 4 years in fire service while stationed at Homestead AFB in Florida. He worked for a year at Surfside Fire Dept. in Florida and then retired as a firefighter after 32 years with the York City Fire Dept. He is survived by his wife; a son, Tracy R. Landis; his father, Samuel M. Landis; and two brothers, Thomas P. and Robin A. Landis. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith M. (Oster) Landis and a brother, Samuel M.
