YORK Robert J. Gentzler, 87, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at Normandie Ridge Retirement Community in York. He was born October 7, 1924, in York, the son of the late Paris E. and Mary (Shultz) Gentzler, and was the husband of Flossie M. (Collier) Gentzler, who resides in York. He was also the husband of Shelva J. (Worley) Gentzler, who died in 2009. Bob was a self-employed truck driver for most of his life, retiring in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, having attained the rank of Private. He was a member of the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Flossie; his son, Robert D., married to Laurie Hess of Lititz; his daughters, Kari, married to Craig Hulse, Sr. of Ephrata, and Lori, married to Sonny Zoll of Reamstown; his brother, Theodore, married to Barbara Gentzler of York; his sister, Sharon Hood of Lancaster; and his stepsons, James R., married to Mary Collier, and Brad, married to Denice Stottlemyer, both of York. He will be sadly missed by his nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene, 2150 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, with Pastor Mark K. Justice officiating. Burial with military honors accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard will be in the Riverview Burial Park following the service. A visitation will be held at Lancaster Church of the Nazarene on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
