COLUMBIA Donald C. Kopp. 74, died on Monday, August 27, 2012, at 9:30 p.m. at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. He was the husband of Jean (Kinnard) Kopp with whom he celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary on April 19, 2012. There will be no viewing. Following cremation with Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., York a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Kreutz Creek Valley (Hellam) VFW Post #7045 located at 341 Yorkana Road. The Rev. Mark S. Kopp, pastor of St. James Lutheran Church in Columbia, will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Mr. Kopp was born September 5, 1937, in York, the son of the late Paul and Margaret (Benedict) Kopp. He was a parts clerk at the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot, a U.S. Navy veteran, life member and 11 year manager of Delphia A.A., life member of Girard A.A., member of the former York Moose Lodge, Kreutz Creek Valley VFW Post #7045, Rooster Social Club, Susquehanna Beneficial Club in Marietta, Vigilant Social Club, life member of Twelfth Ward Independent Democratic Club, honorary member of Sun Snappers of Columbia, member of South Mountain American Legion Post #674 in Mt. Holly Springs, the former Owls Social Club, Prince A.A., Viking A.A., and the Elks BPOE Lodge #1074 in Columbia. Mr. Kopp is survived by his wife; four children, Donald Kopp and wife, Karen, Vicki Blouse and husband, Gary, Valerie Weitkamp and companion, Sam Reese, and Daniel Kopp and companion, Mary Witmer; four stepchildren, Debra Kauffman and husband, Luke, Sheree Marley and husband, Steve, Jim Saunders and wife, Heather, and Henry Bronner and wife, Kelly; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Swift.
