YORK Ralph W. Markle, 81, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Barbara J. Egan nursing home. He was the husband of Phyllis L. (Myers) Markle. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, 80 South Main Street, Loganville, with his pastor the Rev. Douglas DeStephano officiating. A time for viewing will be on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main St., Glen Rock, and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York. Mr. Markle was born on May 19, 1931 in York, a son of the late Jacob and Florence E. (Sharp) Markle. He retired in 1993 from L.W.B., Inc. (J.E. Baker) of York, where he was employed as a Supervisor for 26 years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and the Loganville Fire Company. Ralph was also a Quarter Century member of L.W.B., Inc., enjoyed saltwater fishing in Ocean City, Maryland and putting together puzzles. Besides his wife Phyllis, he also leaves two daughters, Linda S. Ness and her husband, Laverne of Seven Valleys, and Luann K. Wagner and her husband, Scott of Crystal Springs; a son, Ricky E. Markle and his wife Denise of Loganville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; five brothers, Clair L. Markle of Spring Grove, Dean L. Markle, Gerald L. Markle, Fred R. Markle, all of Dover, Marlin E. Markle of Shrewsbury; and one sister, Freda M. Stump of Spring Grove. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
