WEST YORK Daniel J. May, 71, entered into rest at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at his home. He was the loving husband of Anna M. (Smith) May. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 17, 2012. Born September 18, 1941, in Dover, Daniel was the son of the late Lorne J. and Kathryn M. (Gindlesperger) May. Daniel was the owner of Daniel May Machine Shop, Inc. in Dover for 31 years. He was a member of Slunegundy Hunting Camp; a 25 year member of N.F.I.B; and a lifetime member of National Rifle Association. Daniel attended Rohlers Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by three daughters, Deborah L. Poe and husband, Barry J., and Melinda M. Montenegro, all of West York, and Susan M. Mull and husband, Allen F. of York; a son, Jeffrey L. May of West York; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons; a sister, Brenda J. Eckenrode of Dover; and a brother-in-law, William E. Smith of West York. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry May. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Daniel's funeral at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012, at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. There will be viewings from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev.
