Mrs. Holtzer was born March 24, 1916, in Steelton, a daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Gustin) Stefanic. She moved with her husband and newborn son permanently to York in 1937. She is survived by her son, James and his wife, Joanne of York, and brother, Charles Stefanic of Harrisburg. After the death of her husband, she graciously assumed the role of matriarch, confidant, mentor, consultant, cheerleader, and special friend to her beloved grandchildren, Mark (Chrissie) of Rockville, Md., Matthew (Karen) of Alpharetta, Ga., Michael (Robyn) of Sydney, Australia, and Catherine Boarman (Gerard) of Ellicott City, Md.; and their beloved children, Marybeth, Alexandra, David, James, Austin, Stefanie, Henry, and Jake. She was a dedicated cook and baker who would not let anyone leave her home hungry. Her recipes have extended throughout her domain. The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Thomas Kurland and the staff of Internal Medicine Consultants of York and Brunswick at Longstown for the care and compassion given over the years to their mother. She was a resilient woman who will be dearly and daily missed. KefferFH.com
