WEST YORK Leon E. "Lee" Paxton, 86, entered life eternal Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. He was the husband of Jean M. (Concannon) Paxton with whom he celebrated 46 years of marriage on August 2, 2012, and the late Betty (Strine) Paxton. Born in York, on April 24, 1916, Lee was the son of the late Elmer G. and Grace (Grove) Paxton. He was a graduate of West York High before serving his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Upon his return from the war, Lee opened Lee's Diner in West York. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Zeredatha 451, and Zembo Shrine. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2012, at St. James Lutheran Church, 25 N. Adams St., West York, with his pastor, the Rev. Brenda J. Ferree, officiating. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at the church. Burial will be private in East Berlin Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York, is entrusted with arrangements. In addition to his wife, Mr. Paxton is survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
