McCoog TOWSON, MD Lynly Safran McCoog passed away in the loving arms of her husband on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson, Md., after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Diagnosed in October 2009, Lynly fought every step of the way and continued to raise her beautiful children, Mia and Max, while training and running in marathons, serving as a member of the local community board, and contributing countless volunteer hours to her children's classrooms at Lutherville Laboratory School. Lynly was born February 1, 1969, in Toms River, N.J. to Robert Safran, Sr. and Kathryn (Nicholl) Safran. The middle of three children, Lynly, was the favorite daughter among her brothers, Robert and Joshua. Lynly was a 1987 graduate of York Suburban High School and a 1991 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, having earned her BA in English. She worked as a stay-at-home Mom. Her passions were her children, family, and friends. Surviving are her husband, Kevin J. McCoog; her children, Mia (9) and Max (6); her parents, Robert L. Safran, Sr. and Kathryn (Nicholl) Safran; and her siblings, Robert L. Safran, Jr. and Joshua T. Safran. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception, 200 Ware Ave., Towson, MD 21204 at 11 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2012. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Lynly McCoog Memorial Trust.
