RED LION Stephen J. Diehl, 65, passed away unexpectedly at York Hospital on Saturday, November 24, 2012. He was the husband of Christine M. (Urey) Diehl. Mr. Diehl was born January 6, 1947 in York, the son of the late Frank. and Ruth (Harold) Diehl. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Diehl will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313 with the Rev. Lawrence Cunnings officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 until 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery. Stephen was employed by the former Preston Trucking Company and then Mac Steel prior to his retirement. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and he enjoyed fishing. In addition to his wife, Mr. Diehl is survived by two daughters, Lisa Burke and her husband, Tony of Felton, and Laura Schell and her husband, Jeffrey of Lincoln University; three grandchildren; Ansley Schell, Mason Burke and Bryce Schell; one brother, Barry Diehl of Seven Valleys; one sister, Brenda Shearer of York; and a mother-in-law, Joan Urey of Red Lion. Mr. Diehl's family has suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313.
