YORK Verna R. (Sprenkle) Sipe, 89, died at 12:42 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Pleasant Acres Nursing & Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late Donald R. Sipe. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. The service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Sue A. Oelrich, chaplain with Pleasant Acres, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery. Mrs. Sipe, who had worked for 18 years as a floor supervisor at the former Danskin, Inc., was born May 10, 1923, in Tyrone, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Horace J. and Myrtle I. (Waite) Sprenkle. She is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Resh and Sharon Worley, both of York, Donna Stanley of Valkaria, Fla., and Holly Senne of Grant, Fla.; two sons, Preston Roberts of Dover and James Roberts of Spring Grove; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister, Barbara Wilkinson of York. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Resh, Jr., and a sister, Janet Sponseller. www.workinger-semmel.com
