Strickler YORK Charlotte M. Strickler, 95, formerly of Hellam and Highmount, died Monday, December 3, 2012, at Manor Care Health Services - Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late Roy B. Strickler, Sr. Charlotte was born in Pleasureville on September 11, 1917, a daughter of the late Frank A. and Elda V. (Long) Sperla. She retired in 1978 as an examiner for the former Hellam Hosiery Company. Charlotte was a life long member of Fairmount United Methodist Church of Highmount where she sang in the choir and served as a Sunday School teacher for 60 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and volunteered at Pleasant Acres. Mrs. Strickler is survived by three grandchildren, Kevin Strickler and wife, Robyn of Hellam, Keith Strickler and wife, Annette of Harrisburg, and Heather Bitner and husband, Jonathan of Hellam; five great-grandchildren, Patrick Strickler, Morgan Strickler, Katelyn Strickler, Matthew Strickler, Rachel Bitner; and a daughter-in-law, Beverly Strickler of Hellam. She was preceded in death by a son, Roy B. Strickler, Jr. A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fairmount United Methodist Church, 5835 Furnace Road York, (Highmount) with Pastor John W. Bell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. A viewing will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
