YORK Violet Mae Swords, 84, entered life eternal Friday, December 14, 2012, at home. She was the wife of Gail B. "Ike" Swords, Sr., who preceded her into life eternal on April 25, 2012. They were married 59 years. Born in York on August 19, 1928, Violet was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Edna Mae (Longenecker) Kinneman. A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York, with Pastor Ken McCoy of Mountain Grove Chapel, Dover officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior. Burial will follow service in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. Mrs. Swords is survived by seven children, Leonie Kline (Harry), Rick Swords (Linda), Barbara Reichard, Ronald Swords (Kris), Kathy Bixler (Neal), Rodney Swords (Diane), Lynn Swords; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and close friend, Nelson Boring. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sandy Kline and one sister, Irene McCleary. KefferFH.com
