Ensminger YORK TOWNSHIP Norma J. (Schauer) Ensminger, 78, entered into eternal joy and rest with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Ray L. Ensminger with whom she celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on May 2, 2012. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 20th at St. Paul's U.M. Church, 128 S. Belvidere Ave., York. The service will follow at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. D. Guy Carrigan, Jr., officiating and assisted by the Rev. Dr. Michael H. Koplitz, pastor of Calvary UM Church. Burial will follow in Suburban Memorial Gardens. Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., York is handling the arrangements. Mrs. Ensminger was born October 17, 1934 in York, and was the daughter of the late Eugene A. and Claudia D. (Lanningham) Schauer. Norma, a homemaker, fixer of the broken and finder of the lost, was a graduate of William Penn H.S. Class of '53, a member of St. Paul's U.M. Church for over 50 years, and a member of Aldersgate U.M. for 10 years. She was a talented artist who loved being in the sunshine and cherished the antics, closeness and laughter of her family. She was very active in her church, serving as teacher, council chairwoman, Bible study member, and she passionately contributed to many humanitarian projects. She is survived by her husband; three sons, David A. Ensminger of York, Michael R. Ensminger and wife Pamela of York, and William J. Ensminger of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Sharon D. McDonald of York and Susan M. Holtzinger of Seven Valleys; seven grandchildren, Leslie, Lyndsay, Zackery, Marq, Daniel, Isaac and Xander; and two great-grandsons, Noah and Braden. She was preceded in death by a daughter and a son, Kim Louise and Marc James Ensminger; and a sister, Yvonne Bosserman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's U.M. Church, 128 S. Belvidere Ave., York, PA 17401 or to White Rose Hospice, 1412 6th Ave., York, PA 17403.
