YORK L. Marie Snyder, 100, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Normandie Ridge. She was the wife of the late Wilbert D. Snyder. Marie was born in Leitersburg, Md. on July 27, 1912, the daughter of the late Samuel D. and Annie M. (Grimes) Barnhart. She was the chief of operations and finance for the former Naval Ordnance Plant in York. Marie was a graduate of Waynesboro High School and Thompson Business College Mrs. Snyder is a member of Bethany United Methodist Church of York and the United Methodist Women. Her Masonic affiliations include the Order of Eastern Star #508 and Amarantha Court #43. She is survived by a son, Curvin W. Snyder and wife Joanne of York; two grandchildren, B. David Snyder and Melodie Eyster; five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Steven, and David Snyder, Zachary and Rachel Eyster; a great-great-granddaughter, Olivia Willow Snyder; a dear friend and roommate, Eleanor Henry; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1401 Mount Rose Ave., York. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. JP Bohanan and Chaplain David Brinker of Normandie Ridge. A visitation will follow the service at the church. A private burial will be in Waynesboro's Green Hill Cemetery.
