YORK Alliene V. (Howard) Jacobs, 95, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Normandie Ridge, York. She was the loving wife of Frederick C. Jacobs, who died in 2003. Mrs. Jacobs was born in Shrewsbury, on April 18, 1917, daughter to the late Charles and Margaret (Krebs) Howard, Sr. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Evangelical Lutheran Church, York, serving for many years in Christian Education, teaching Sunday school and coordinating the nursery. She was employed as a time clerk for the former American Chain and Cable, retiring after 30+ years of service. Those who knew her admired her many creative talents, basket making, cross stitching, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She enjoyed sharing her life experiences through story telling. Alliene was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include four loving daughters, Terri R. Stetler and her husband, Robert of Dover, Peggy A. Baldwin and her husband, Dean of Dover, Jana J. Zech and her husband, Thomas of East Berlin, and Donna J. Kreiger and her husband Robert of York; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Zech and a brother, Charles Howard, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at Shiloh Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2201 Church Rd., York. Officiating will be her pastor, Kathy Swords. A visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2201 Church Rd., York, PA 17408; or to the Normandie Ridge Benevolent Care Fund, 1700 Normandie Drive, York, PA 17408. Arrangements were entrusted to the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., York (Shiloh).
