DeRemer, Sr. YORK Russell Arthur DeRemer, Sr. entered rest with the Lord Wednesday, December 26, 2012, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bobby, and two infant daughters, Linda and Pamela. Born November 12, 1934, in Kingston, Pa., he was the son of the late Russell Earl DeRemer and Bertha Julia Updyke. He graduated from West-morland High School in Trucksville, Pa., in 1952 and married the late Bobby Lee (Crews) DeRemer in 1953. He was a member and lay leader of Locust Street United Methodist Church in Wrightsville, and formerly a member of Locust Grove United Methodist Church in York, and Trucksville United Methodist Church in Trucksville. Russell is survived by his son, Russell Jr. and his wife, Susan of Midlothian, Va.; his son, Lee and his wife, Marcie of York; his daughter, Lori Reiser and her husband, Bill Reiser of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; and his son, Bob and his wife, Tiffany of York. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Brady, Kelly, Courtney, Becki, Chelsea, Vicky, Morgan, Alex, Mason, and Maura; and one great-grandchild, Julia. He loved and was proud of all of them. After working in the family appliance repair store, Russell was trained as a sales representative for TREMCO, a global manufacturer of roofing and flooring materials and chemicals for industrial clients, for 30 years before retiring in 1994. He took great pride in the success of the men he trained. He was a past president and longtime member of East York Lions Club, a Boy Scout leader, and a little league coach. He enjoyed taking care of his property and spending time on his boat. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday, December 30, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Locust Street United Methodist Church, 314 Locust St., Wrightsville, and will be officiated by his pastor, the Rev. Jim Copulos. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to the Locust Street United Methodist Church general fund.
