ULYSSES Earl L. Hartlaub, 69, formerly of York, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Sugen) Hartlaub. Born April 25, 1943, in York, he was the son of Thomas and Portia (Barnhart) Hartlaub. He was employed by Baker's Stone Quarry in York for 22 years. Retiring to Potter County in 1999, he was employed by Hoopes Turf Farm in Ulysses. Earl was a member of NDHP Motorcycle Club, White Rose Motorcycle Club, and former member of Viking AA. He was an avid NASCAR and football fan. He loved telling jokes, riding his Harley deep sea fishing, hunting and camping. He loved his canine companion, Emmy (M&M). In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by two sons, Tony S. Hartlaub and Chris A. Hartlaub, both of York; a daughter, Carla J. Bury of York; a step-son, Richard (Amanda) Pratt; three step-daughters, Tracey (Matthew) Waters, Nykol (Jayme) McMichael and Michelle (Armondo) Rosario; two grandchildren, Logan Hartlaub and Brianna Schult of York; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren of New York; a brother, Robert (Dixie) Hartlaub of Red Lion; five sisters, Nadine (Charlie) Owlier of York, Fran (George) Gladfelter of Dover, Gloria (Carl) Miller of Thomasville, Dee (Wayne) Morris of York, and Sue (Paula O'Brien) Anderson of Matthews, N.C.; 12 nephews and 16 nieces. He was preceded in death by a grandson, tony S. Hartlaub, Jr. and six brothers and a sisters. A celebration of life will be held at the James Danner VFW Post 537, 1095 Pines Road, Etters, PA 17319, Sunday, January 6, 2013, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Olney funeral Home and Cremation Services, 621 S. Main St., Ulysses, PA 16948; or to the White Rose Motorcycle Club, 5252 Hillclimb Road, Spring Grove, PA 17362; or to NDHP Motorcycle Fraternity, 1364 Keiser Lane, Seven Valleys, PA 17360.
