GLEN ROCK Marie I. (Wherley) Reidt, 76, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at the home of her daughter. She was the wife of the late Melvin M. Reidt A celebration of her life memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, at New Hope Fissel's Church, with her pastor, the Rev. Julian Hall, and Pastor Mark Fair officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be no viewing. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements. She was born on December 19, 1936, in Glen Rock, a daughter of the late Carroll A. and Alice L. (Raver) Wherley. Marie was self employed as a dog groomer operating Clip and Dip Dog Grooming, and had also owned Scenic Acres Kennel in Glen Rock, where she raised show and field Bassett hounds for many years. She was past president and secretary of the Bassett Hound Club of Maryland and was also a Girl Scout leader in Glen Rock for over 25 years. She was a member of New Hope Fissel's Church. She leaves behind four daughters, Wanda L. Weaver and her husband, George, Linda M. Bowers and her husband, Steve, Tina L. Sterner and her husband, Lorie, and Elaine S. Bush and her husband, Steve, all of Glen Rock; seven grandchildren, Traci Creager, Melanie Jackson, Wade Bowers, Shelley Wenger, Cameron Sterner, Matthew Bush, and Marlayna Sterner; six great-grandchildren, Tanner, Jared, Reese, Payton, Cody, and Evan; and a brother, David R. Wherley and his wife, Susan of Red Lion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue, Inc., 2 Heritage Farm Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349; or to
