CONEWAGO TOWNSHIP Robert S. Lauer, 69, of York, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday at his residence. He was the husband of Dorothy (Christine) Lauer. Born June 17, 1943, in York County, a son of the late Esther (Knaub) Embich, he was retired from New Cumberland Army Depot, and was a member of Strinestown United Brethren in Christ. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam Era. In addition to his wife, Mr. Lauer is survived by four sons, Ronald E. Frye, Jr., and his wife Sandy, of Dover, Dale D. Frye, and his wife Barbara, of York Haven, Douglas T. Frye, and his wife Dawn, of Dover, and John L. Frye, and his wife Amy, of York Haven; two daughters, Debra A. Slanker, and her husband Thomas, of York, and Nancy E. Frye, and her companion Troy, of York; 19 grandchildren, Deanna, Randy, Tanya, Nicole, Dale, Terry, Fallon, Coleby, Tommy, Cody, Andrew, Travis, Tyler, Alyson, Heather, Emily, JT, Dalton, and Bryan; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Frye. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Strinestown United Brethren in Christ, 5675 Susquehanna Trail North, Manchester, with The Rev. Dawn Spangler, officiating. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Strinestown United Brethren in Christ, 5675 Susquehanna Trail North, Manchester, PA 17345.
