YORK Mary M. Gruver, 94, entered into rest at 1:37 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Stewart L. Gruver. They were married 67 years. Born September 5, 1918, in York, Mary was the daughter of the late Roy and Rose (Appleby) Null. Mary and her husband owned and operated Gruver's Bakery for 15 years. She was a member of the Wellsville Frontier Days Riding Club, Conewago Trail Riders, and Bonny Brook Riding Club. She loved horses and animals. She is survived by a nephew, Dale Wentz of York; a niece, Shirley Zerbe of York; and a close family friend, Irvin Deveney of York. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary's graveside service at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013, in Mount Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mount Rose Ave., York. The procession will form at the entrance to the cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Bonnie Whittier, pastor of Christ U.C.C. in Jefferson. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is in charge of arrangements.
