YORK Jamie Day, 57, passed away February 19, 2013, at York Hospital. Jamie was born November 29, 1955, to the late Charles and Sadie (Sease) Day. Jamie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and she loved spending time with her children, reading, writing poetry, traveling and telling jokes. She is survived by three sons, Michael L. Day, Jesse C. Day and Leonard A. Saunders wife Ledy Perez-Saunders; two daughters, Mi-Ina Ellis and Kartina Ellis; two sisters, Grace Teal and Mary Folk; 17 grandchildren, Michael Day, Jr., Mykia Day, Lastijha Day, Jamie Atterberry-Cook, Lakeisha Day, Rashaun Day, Avi-asha Day, Zakee Saunders, Elzir Saunders, Jada Saunder, Daejanae Saunders, the Ledy (twins), Shyheim Goff, Noreaga Goff, Nasir Ellis, Juelz Goff and Yamir Ellis; six great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Jamie was preceded in death by her twin brother, James Day. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Unity COGIC, 121 Ridge Ave., York PA 17403 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Darnell Bowman, officiating.
