WINDSOR Richard A. Danner, 74, passed away at 1:06 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Detroit, Mich., on May 5, 1938 , son of the late Theodore and Antonie (Lienert) Danner. Mr. Danner worked various jobs throughout the years - from factories to childcare cook, but his last job was as a Concierge in Seattle, Wash. He loved to travel and went on many adventures from an Alaskan Cruise to living on the beach in Hawaii. He was a United States Army veteran. Surviving are a son, Richard Danner of California; a daughter, Susan Hoofnagle and her husband, Gary of Windsor; son, Jeffery Danner and his wife, Carol of Michigan; grandchildren, Richard, Michelle, Kristine, Jammie, Ashley, Brittney, and Teagan; great-granddaughters, Natalee, Liliana, and Emaline; two nephews, Theodore and Terry; and a niece, Marie. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Theodore and Wallene Danner. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A memorial service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at a later date in May in Michigan. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to York County Veterans Honor Guard, c/o: John M. Vecero, Jr., 670 Hammond Road, York, PA 17406. Richard's family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the nurses and physicians at the VA Clinic in York and VA Hospital in Lebanon, who took care of him with concern and gentleness, and to the nurses and staff with AseraCare Hospice who treated him with such respect and care in his last month.
