YORK Norma J. "Jeannie" Landis, 78, died on March 16, 2013 at her residence. She was the wife of Fred L. Landis of York. Born in Seven Valleys, on June 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Pauline (Messerschmidt) Ehrhart. She was an RN for 43 years working for the Barley Homes and later for the Manor Care Health Services. Jeannie was in the first graduating class of Susquehannock High School in 1952 and the York Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She was a member of Fourth United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Gideon's International. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Fred L. Landis, II and his wife, Georgia of York; daughter, Stephanie J. Whittles and her husband, Thomas of York; three grandchildren, Amanda and her husband, Ross, Ashley and Justin; one great-grandson, Brayden; and a brother, Dale Ehrhart of Laurel, Md. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Fourth United Methodist Church, 1067 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. Mitchell M. Galloway officiating. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday at church. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
