YORK Allen R. Glatfelter, 94, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Pearl V. Brenneman Glatfelter. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with his pastor Rev. Margareta Breden officiating. Burial will follow in Friedensaal Church Cemetery, Seven Valleys. Viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Mr. Glatfelter was born March 25, 1919 in Glen Rock, a son of the late John and Lizzie Bailey Glatfelter. He retired in 1982 from Voith in York, where he was employed as a Crane Operator for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a long time member of Friedensaal Lutheran Church, Seven Valleys. He leaves his children: Audrey J. Myers of York, Betty L. Grove of Red Lion, Kaye E. Donivan of York, James A. Glatfelter of Camp Hill and Karen V. Warner of Yardley; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Frances Rohrbaugh of Sunbury; and a brother, Charles "Hon" Glatfelter of Glen Rock. He was preceded in death by ten brothers and four sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Friedensaal Lutheran Church, 9138 White Church Road, Seven Valleys, PA 17360.
