RED LION Dorothy "Dot" I. (Snyder) Sechrist, 91, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 1:15 a.m. at Manor Care-Dallastown. She was the wife of Wayne W. Sechrist, who entered into rest on April 17, 1995. She was born in Winters-town, on July 9, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Willard Ray and Mae O. (Grove) Snyder. Dorothy worked as a cigar maker for many years, retiring in 1985 from the House of Windsor Cigar Factory and attended the Red Lion Bible Church. She is survived by two sons, Timothy W. Sechrist and his wife, Susan of York, and Allen "Ike" W. Sechrist and his wife, Betty of Red Lion; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Kreidler of York; one brother, W. Richard Snyder, Sr. of Red Lion; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elfie Mitzel. All services for Dorothy will be private and at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach, pastor of Springvale UM Church, officiating. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion will be handling the arrangements. Burial will be private in Yoe Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to: Springvale U.M. Church, 265 Circle Drive, Red Lion, PA 17356. Dorothy loved spending time with her late husband Wayne. She participated with him in all activities that he enjoyed just to be with him, like hunting and fishing and more. She enjoyed watching birds. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and cherished the times when the family was all together. Every visit or phone call always ended with "DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU?" She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
