SHREWSBURY Edward T. Tomasic, 82, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Shrewsbury. He was the husband of Emma F. (Finyo) Tomasic. Viewings will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday from the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. The Funeral Liturgy will begin at 12 noon on Saturday at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, with the Rev. Sylvan P. Capitani officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. He was born August 22, 1930, in Turtle Creek, Allegheny County, a son of the late Nicholas Michael and Marie P. (Schoepke) Tomasic. Edward was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired in 1991 from the former Westinghouse of Hunt Valley, Md. Edward was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church of New Freedom and of the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403 of Glen Rock. He was a former member of the Bon Air Country Club of Glen Rock. In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons, Alan E. Tomasic and his wife, Janet M. of Reisterstown, Md., Raymond J. Tomasic and his wife, Mary J. of Columbia, Md., and David M. Tomasic and his wife, Kimberly D. of New Freedom; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer M., John A., Lauren M., Christine R., Madison J., Megan A., Melanie K., Michael A., Benjamin A. and Kate E. Tomasic. In Edward's memory, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, PA 17349.
