Strickhouser SPRINGETTSBURY TWP. Richard C. Strickhouser, 89, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Autumn House- East in York. He was the husband of Lorraine K. (Frey) Strickhouser. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 14, 2012. Services will be announced at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Strickhouser was born in York on January 15, 1924, the son of the late Charles L. and Hettie M. (Smith) Strickhouser. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1980, where he was a letter carrier. Mr. Strickhouser was a member of Yorkshire United Methodist Church. He was a life member of VFW Post 7045, a former Assistant Chief and Treasurer of Springettsbury Fire Co. in York and Goodwill Fire Co. in York, and a member of National Letter Carriers Association, and AARP. He was a 1942 Graduate of William Penn Senior High. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Strickhouser leaves two sons, Steven R. Strickhouser and his wife Vickie of York, and Terry L. Strickhouser and his wife Rosa of Daytona Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jason, Erik, Alberto and Angelina Strickhouser, and Maria Conley; five great-grandsons; a brother, Ronald Strickhouser of Dunedin, Fla.
