STRINESTOWN Harry S. "Hen" Johnson, 90, passed away at 1:32 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Manor Care Health Service Kingston Court. He was the husband of Shirley L. (Harkins) Johnson to whom he was married 65 years. Born May 16, 1922, in Landisburg, a son of the late Willis and Ethel (Smith) Johnson, he had been employed as a Millwright through the Harrisburg Carpenters Union. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He spent many summers as a counselor at Liberty Bible Camp. He was a devout Christian and a member of Ambassadors Bible Chapel. In addition to his wife, Mr. Johnson is survived by a son, Ronald Johnson, and his wife Ann; a daughter, Debra Johnson; two brothers, Fred and Paul Johnson; three sisters, Elsie Etters, Helen Falkenstein, and Reba Emerson; four grandchildren, Jennifer Lange, and her husband Bert, Nathaniel Johnson, Sarah Hammaker, and her husband Ben, and Emily Pascavage, and her husband Joe; and nine great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Jim, and David; and two sisters, Norma and Suzanne. A funeral service and celebration of his life will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 9 a.m. at Ambassadors Bible Chapel, 300 York Haven Road, Manchester, with his Pastor, The Rev. David Slautterback, officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
