WEST MANCHESTER TWP. Jane Marie (Stence) Ball, 74, was called home by her Lord Jesus on April 28, 2013, from Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Zed Ball, Jr. Born on May 12, 1938, in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Blanche Louise (Aston) Stence Shaffer and Charles James Stence, Sr. She was the stepdaughter of the late Kenneth E. Shaffer. In earlier years she retired as a weaver from local silk mills. She also was a ceramic teacher for several years. She was the member of the Ambassadors Bible Church of Manchester. She belonged to the Ladies Aux. VFW Post 556, the Moose Social Club, and the Ceramic Club. She was a very sweet and loving women, everyone called her "MOM". She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Vanessa Anthony and companion Sam Rivera of York; son, James Ball of Ohio; grandson, Joseph Stine and companion, Ann Marie of York; great-grand daughter, Natalia; siblings Anna Wagner of Mt. Wolf, Darlene Able and husband Rick of York, Robert C. Shaffer of York and Kenneth Shaffer of Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zed Ball; siblings, Charles Stence, Jr., and Ella Louise Bennett. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday at her church Ambassadors Bible Church, 3000 York Haven Road, Manchester. Services will begin 11 a.m. with Pastor David Slauterback officiating. Interment will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to help defray funeral costs Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. 822 E.
