YORK John Michael Miklusek, 75, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 1, 2013, at his home in York with his loving family at his side. He was the husband of Connie Miklusek. The Mikluseks celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last June. John was born May 6, 1937, in Uniontown, the son of the late John and Helen Miklusek. Following his service in the U.S. Air Force, he married the love of his life, Connie (nee Whoolery) in 1962. The Mikluseks lived in New York, Virginia and West Virginia before settling in York in 1977. John enjoyed a 40-year career as a nurse anesthetist, most recently practicing at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Apple Hill Anesthesia Group of York. John was a life-long lover of music and thoroughly enjoyed singing in barbershop quartets. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a 35-year member of their choir. He and his wife Connie were involved in many church activities, devoting countless hours of service to the parish. John was a member of the White Rose Polka Club, the Knights of Columbus and was an avid golfer. He and his wife Connie enjoyed golf trips, vacationing in many beautiful places around the world and they loved traveling to visit their children and grandchildren. John is survived by his wife Connie, daughter Kristine (Joe) Santucci of Chicago, IL, son J. Martin of Pittsburgh, daughter Margie (Joe) Stauffer of Skillman, N.J., and son Gary (Claudia) of Yucaipa, CA. In addition, he is survived by three grandchildren, Lily, Matthew and John Stauffer. John dearly loved his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Keffer Funeral Home at 2114 W. Market St., in York. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013, at St. Rose of Lima Church. Following the mass, full military rights will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. There will also be a 9 a.m. visitation at the church prior to the mass. Internment will be at Holy Savior Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church and School.
