YORK Donald R. Staub, 80, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Lanius) Staub. They were married for 61 years. Donald was born on October 20, 1932, in New Oxford, a son of the late Albert S. "Brownie" and and Alberta A. (Smith) Staub. He was a truck driver for 46 years, having worked for Leiphart Trucking, M&M Trucking, Smith Transfer, and Carolina Freight. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Donald was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a funeral altar server, and an extraordinary minister. He was also a member of Teamsters Local 776, Victory A.A., and Knights of St. Paul. He was active in the York County Bus Club for Deaf Children from 1963 to 1977. The viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 309 S. George St., York, with the Rev. Jonathan P. Sawicki as the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by eight children, Christopher Staub of Buffalo, N.Y., Timothy Staub of Lemoyne, Donna Smeltzer and husband, Lance of Red Lion, Carol Folckomer and husband, John of York, Daniel Staub and wife, Robin of East Berlin, Matthew Staub and wife, Candy of York, Anthony Staub and wife, Karen of York, and Amy Ferro and husband, Luke,of Seattle, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna M. Staub of Washington, D.C., Joan M. Stephens of Loganville, and Phyllis Y. Warner of Seven Valleys; and two brothers, Bernard F. Staub and Charles E. Staub, both of York. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent L. Staub. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 309 S.
