YORK William L. Sweitzer, 70, died on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 7:25 a.m. at his home. He was the husband of Linda J. (Smith) Sweitzer with whom he celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on January 26, 2013. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Workinger-Semmel F.H. & Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. The service will start at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mr. Sweitzer was born October 25, 1942, in York County, the son of the late Frank and Blanche (Grove) Sweitzer. He was retired after 26 years as a machinist with Caterpillar, worked part-time delivering parts for Beasley Ford, was a graduate of Susquehannock H.S. Class of '61, and attended Mt. Wolf Community Church. He was a member of the Hawks Gunning Club, a former member of Dover Fish and Game Club, and was an avid bowler participating in numerous York County leagues. Mr. Sweitzer is survived by his wife; a daughter, Melissa A. Claghorn of York; two grandchildren, Jacob and Natalie; and a brother, Kenneth L. Sweitzer of Sarasota, Fla.
