George Emory "Lefty" Mckinley Sr. Obituary
Mckinley, Sr. MANCHESTER George "Lefty" Emory Mckinley, Sr., 79, entered into the presence of God, on Friday, May 10, 2013, from the York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Norma Jean (Frey) Mckinley, who passed on August 31, 2011. The couple shared fifty-five years of marriage. Born on December 5, 1933, in York, he was the son of the late Anna Agnes (Bechar) and George Abner Mckinley. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War Era. He retired from Kinsley as a dump truck driver. He attended the U.M. Church of Druck Valley. He was a NASCAR fan, Jeff Gordon was his favorite driver. "Lefty", as he was fondly known, was an avid sports fan, including football and basketball. He will be deeply missed by his family. George leaves to cherish his memory, four children, Tim Mckinley and wife Brenda of Etters, George Mckinley, Jr., of York, Steve Mckinley and wife, Lorrie of Shiloh, Julie Ann Rohrbaugh and husband Karl E., of Manchester; six grandchildren, Tiffany Ann Rohrbaugh and fiance Ryan Gaskill, Jennifer Jean Rohrbaugh, Alaina Mckinley, Lindsey Mckinley, Clayton Mckinley, Kate Mckinley; a great-granddaughter, Aslynn Thomson; two sisters, Mary Ellen (Rusty) Ginter and Jeannie Schroder; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his wife, Norma Jean Mckinley, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Wasser, Kay Frey and Carol Stackhouse. Private interment services with full military rites will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Family and friends may attend a Celebration of Life Service on Friday from 8 to 9 p.m. at the Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St.,York. A visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. The Rev. John Allen will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the , (York Division), 610 Community Way, Lancaster, Pa., 17603.
