YORK Michael H. Givler, 58, died at 3:11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at his residence. Born November 27, 1954, in Tyrone, he was the son of the late George and Thelma (Stonebraker) Givler. Michael was an electrical engineer with Graham Packaging and had 20 years of service with the company. He was a 1972 graduate of Tyrone High School and a 1976 graduate of Penn State University, cum laude. He was a member of the men's fraternity of the Lives Changed By Christ Church. Michael LOVED amusement parks and rollercoasters and truly enjoyed visiting as many as he could. Michael also volunteered 10 plus years of his services with the York County Parks for the Moonlight Boat Rides on Lake Redman and the Astrology group, which met at Richard M. Nixon County Park. But most important on Michael's list of favorites was the band Pentagon. Their music would be his steady companion as he fought his fight with cancer. Surviving are his stepdaughter, Laura M. Klinedinst and her husband, Keith of York; brother, Greg Givler and his wife, Donna of Tyrone; and two stepgrandchildren, Vincint P. and Allison K. Klinedinst of York. Following cremation, a Celebration of Michael's Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York. Family and friends are cordially invited to visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Richard R. Galutia, a friend and member of the LCBC men's fraternity, will officiate. A private burial will be held in Tyrone Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
