YORK Irwin H. "Bud" Hershner, Jr., 92, of Springettsbury Township, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at his residence. He was the husband of Nancy Jane (Goodling) Hershner. Born January 10, 1921, in Cross Roads Borough, a son of the late H. Irwin and Ruth (Hake) Hershner, he was a graduate of Red Lion High School and had attended the University of Alabama. He was the founder and president of I.H. Hershner Company, Inc., as well as ExpressWay Realty Company. He had also been the Treasurer at York Aero, Inc. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He was a member of Emanuel United Methodist Church in Loganville, Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity, and a life member of York County Agricultural Society. He was a former member of the York Sertoma Club, as well as the West York Exchange Club. In addition to his wife of 62 years, Mr. Hershner is survived by three daughters, Beth Jane Hershner of Alexandria, Va., Daphne Annette Hershner of York, and Ann Louise Reynold and her husband, Todd of Pittsburgh; three grandsons, Peter A. Reynold, Samuel S. Reynold, and Atlee H. Hershner; and a brother, Kenton Hershner. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Hershner and Nina Smithson. A reception with the family will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York. Private burial will be in Loganville United Methodist Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may to made to Emanuel United Methodist Church, 40 S.
