YORK Edna G. Smith, 90, died at her residence at 7:45 a.m. on July 27, 2013. She was the wife of Charles P. Smith with whom she observed their 61st wedding anniversary on June 21, 2013. Born August 21, 1922, in Port Allegheny, she was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Christine (Johnson) Anderson. Edna was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and the Women's Association of the church. She was a member of and volunteer for the York Art Association. In addition to her husband, Edna is survived by two sons, Steven B. and his wife Robin Smith of Pottstown, and Thomas E. and his wife Lucinda Smith of York; a daughter, Arlene K. Elder and her husband James of Salem, S.C.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Marian Eicher of Port Allegheny. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday July 31, 2013, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 311 Haines Road, York with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Gregory Seckman, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
