STEWARTSTOWN Barbara A. Hebel, 73, died November 1, following a brief illness. A viewing will be held Thursday, November 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. from the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. There will be a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. Friday, November 8 at the mortuary, with the Rev. Joshua R. Brommer officiating. A Committal Service will be in the New Freedom Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Barbara was born May 7, 1940, in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of the late Michael and Johanna (Uhl) Duschl. She was married to the late Herbert C. Hebel. Barbara was a lifetime homemaker. She was a special needs caregiver to her son Harold. Barbara was a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church of New Freedom. She was active with "The Growing Edge," a special needs support group. Surviving are two sons, David M. Hebel and his wife Teresa, and Harold C. Hebel, all of Stewartstown; two grandchildren, Andrea J. and Jacob S. Hebel; and three sisters, Johanna Sadler, Catherine Shaffer and Theresa Hellman. Barbara was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Duschl, John Duschl and Michael Duschl; and a sister, Elizabeth Sassard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Penn-Mar Organization, Inc., P.O. Box 36, Maryland Line, MD 21053.
